In public and even in many private schools the curriculum is supplemented with hands on activities, or ABC's (Activity Based Curriculum). One of the easiest activities your children can do to supplement their learning is art. Whether it's a coloring page of that moment in history you're trying to teach them about, or drawing diagrams for an oral report, or building a paper mache pyramid to help them learn about Egypt, we want to be there for you to give you some great ideas, and techniques to keep your kids interested in what they're learning about.
If you have a great art project to do with your kids, or a great website that deals with this subject, let us know in a comment below!

Projects:
Geometry/Engineering: Build Newspaper Towers - Just make sure you tie in the math when you do this!
Make Your Own Paper - A great activity to tie in with earth day or a lesson on recycling and conservation!
Tin Pencil Holder - You can also use vegetable cans. This is a great way to start off every grade. You can let your child make their own pencil and supply holders to their liking. I would recommend using a can opener on vegetable cans that doesn't leave a sharp edge. Your child can really go crazy with this if you give them a box of art supplies with paint, glue, markers, colorful paper, tape, ribbons, buttons, etc that they can glue onto the can and decorate it with.
