Specifically these videos were made with these key points in mind:

• A fun, cute character to interest children.
• Short videos (less than two minutes in length) to hold younger children's interest.
• Large, easy to read font.
• Encouragement at the end to reward children for watching/ reading along.
• Help from Ruby to phonetically sound out the words in part and then see and hear the word in whole.
• Explanation of the sounds/rules of reading.
